LA ROSE

"C’est le temps que tu as perdu pour ta rose qui fait ta rose si importante" - Antoine de Saint Exupéry

INTRODUCING LE SAVON 'ROSE'

Symbol of Romance

The Rose, with its many different varieties, colours and scents has long been a symbol of romance and a central focus of perfumes the world over. It’s also widely used in essential oils, soaps and skin lotions and creams. Skin care products containing rose essential oil are purported to hydrate dry skin, clear acne, reduce signs of ageing, minimise the appearance of scars, and help with conditions such as eczema and rosacea.

The Provence Rose

The Centifolia or Provence Rose famous for its beautiful scent, is cultivated and grown abundantly in the hills surrounding the Southern French town of Grasse. It is also sometimes known as the May rose as it starts to flower in Spring and will bloom all the way through until June.

If you were lucky enough to wander through the fields around Plascassier and St Jacques de Grasse you would be able to see – and smell - the last of their pretty pink flowers around about now. The Centifolia Rose flowers of Grasse are carefully handpicked and harvested for the huge perfume houses of Dior and Hermes as well as the smaller, independent local perfumers of the region.

C’est en croyant aux roses qu’on les fait éclore – Anatole France

The ‘Rose’ French artisan soap is delicately scented, moisturising and evocative of those rose fields of Grasse. It conjures up the warm summer mornings and cloudless afternoon skies we dream of all winter long.

Why not try the Rose soap in the Ma Provence: Florale collection for a flavour of early summer in Grasse?
